In the Big Blue World, There’s So Much to be Saved!

Finding Nemo- The Musical in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is just one of the many amazing experiences I love when heading to this park.  The small details create one big, cohesive story across the park, plus, the food is incredible, from the crave-able mac and cheese at Eight Spoons Cafe to basically everything made in the open kitchen at Satu’li Canteen.

Today I am writing about DAK because it is the 20th anniversary of this incredible place and it’s Earth Day! One of the things I love the most about this park is it’s commitment to bettering our planet, from only using paper straws to collecting donations and sharing information to help animals, Animal Kingdom inspires me to do more in my everyday life in an effort to protect our planet.

My Favorite Products:

  • S’well Water Bottle: This bottle has been an obsession of mine about two years ago when I traveled to Israel.  While climbing mountains in the hot sun, my S’well kept my drink cold- I got to the top of the mountain and still had ice!  They’re a little pricy but work amazingly well!  Customize yours on their website, S’Well.  $35.00, 17 o.z. bottle
  • Reusable Straws: I’m guilty of loving straws.  I can acknowledge that they’re often times useless, but I love them nonetheless.  However, when I saw the video of that turtle with the straw in his nose, it really opened my eyes to how much damage they were doing to our planet and our oceans.  Now, I refuse plastic straws in restaurants and only use them when I really need to plus I have reusable straws, so I never have to feel wasteful OR miss out!  I got mine at the Disney Parks years ago, but they don’t make them anymore, so I’m linking similar ones here! $12.99, Prime available.
  • Athena Cup: LADIES, I have to admit I was scared to try this one, but it changed my life.  Better for my body, better for my wallet (each Athena cup can last up to 15 years) and better for the environment.  I highly suggest grabbing one of these and giving it a go- no one I know has regretted it yet! If you have any questions about them, feel free to DM me, or scoop one up and read the reviews here.  $12.97, Prime available.
  • Nellie’s All-Natural Laundry: It’s affordable, it’s good for your clothes, the environment, and your body.  This company has dryer balls to replace harmful dryer sheets while cutting drying time and dye free, scent free soaps that are gentle on water and your skin!  You can order a starter kit to try a little of all of their products on Amazon.  $40.99 for Starter Kit, Prime available.

Everyday Tips:

  • Recycle as much as I can!  After moving into my home & putting more effort into selecting my products, I have found out how to recycle more products that I assumed were trash!
  • Go reusable as often as possible.  Not using something in the first place is even better than recycling!  Whether it’s using dishware instead of disposable cutlery at work or bringing a water bottle with you on the go!
  • One meat-free day a week!  I eat more veggies, which is good for me & eat fewer animal products, which is good for the environment.

I’m a firm believer that little changes can add up & make a colossal difference!  I would love to hear your favorite tips & what you do in your community to make a difference!

XOXO,
