Disney breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so on vacation it’s even more important to choose wisely! Here is your guide to the top 5 spots to grab your Disney breakfast at Walt Disney World. With a mix of quick-service, character breakfasts, and underrated hidden gems, there’s something for every Disney foodie on this top 5 list!
Quick-Service Disney Breakfast
Primo Piatto, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Walt Disney World
If you’re looking for a quick meal on the Disney Skyliner loop, Primo Piatto is one of my current favorite locations! This is because their menu is fresh and unique. Besides just Mickey waffles and eggs, they have specialty menu items like blueberry-lemon pancakes and my favorite, the Croque Madame! This decadent sandwich fits perfectly with the Riviera storytelling at this beautiful resort. And, it’s covered in cheese, so how bad could that be?
Character Breakfast
Topolino’s Terrace, Disney’s Riviera Resort, Walt Disney World
Another breakfast at Disney’s Riviera Resort – it’s just that good! Typically, I’m not a huge fan of character breakfasts. Of course they’re fun when you’re on vacation, but for this foodie who is here year-round, the food is the main star of the show when I dine on Disney property. However, Topolino’s Terrace is an exception to all of the rules! At this location, you can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse, and Daisy and Donald Duck. The menu is elevated and the location is beautiful at the tip-top of this brand new Parisian resort. If you can snag a reservation, make this location a priority for your Disney dining!
Classic Disney Breakfast
The Wave … of American Flavors, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Walt Disney World
It might come as a surprise, but it can be hard to find a large Mickey waffle for your Disney breakfast. Many restaurants on property have the smaller Mickey (and sometimes even Minnie!) waffles, but it’s only a special few locations that have the big Mickey waffle. The Wave … of American Flavors has that, and MORE! Come here to grab classics, like the big Mickey waffle, and to grab brunch favorites too! My personal favorite is their Floridian Eggs Benedict – a twist on the brunch classic with crab cakes instead of Canadian bacon. This menu is special because they’re always adding new, fun, local dishes!
Sweet Disney Breakfast
Ale & Compass, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Walt Disney World
If you dream about sweet treats for every meal of the day, these rich, chocolate waffles are for you! Everything I’ve eaten for breakfast at Ale & Compass has always been wonderful, but I go back to the dark chocolate waffle again and again. Topped with a dried cherry compote, espresso-mascarpone cream, and chocolate shavings, it’s somehow even more decadent than it sounds!
Fusion Breakfast
Kona Café, Disney’s Polynesian Resort, Walt Disney World
Are you sick of the classic, average breakfast? This breakfast has classic offerings, but with inspiration from Hawaiian and Asian cuisine influences. Most Disney foodies will push you to try the Tonga Toast – a thick French toast stuffed with bananas and topped with fresh strawberry sauce. But, the best option on the menu is a more hidden gem – the macadamia nut pancakes! Swirled with macadamia nut butter and covered in pineapple sauce, these pancakes will give you a tropical feeling all day long – especially when paired with a perfect liliko’i mimosa!
