Is this the best milkshake you’ll ever have? The Shake Shack x Milk Bar Milkshake Collaboration is HERE!

Shake Shack x Milk Bar Milkshakes are HERE.

I’ll start off by saying a milkshake is never my go-to dessert. I typically don’t love the texture, and never think they’re thick enough, cold enough, or good enough to rival the classic ice cream. For me to enjoy a milkshake is one thing. For me to go out of my way to write an article and suggest a milkshake to my readers – that’s a whole different level of love for a dessert! But the new Shake Shack x Milk Bar shakes are worth my recommendation and a trip to your local Shake Shack!

Why Shake Shack x Milk Bar?

These two New York City-born brands are both known for their big flavors and cult followings!

Shake Shack started with a single cart back in 2001, and until 2003, that single cart kept New Yorkers lining up for more. In 2004, the brand opened its first permanent location, and Shake Shack was born! Out of all the burger chains continually popping up across the U.S., Shake Shack has always been my favorite. I love the soft buns, the ShackSauce, and the thin patties with crispy edges!

Milk Bar opened in 2008 and the treats are the incredible brainchildren of founder, Christina Tosi. If you’re unfamiliar with her, she’s amazing. Her desserts are incredibly sweet, but almost always include the unexpected. And I know you’ve seen their epic birthday cakes on Instagram!

Some really good shakes

So, as you can see, this collaboration truly is a match made in heaven. Shake Shack has incredibly thick, ice-cold shakes year-round. Any time of year, you can find staples on their menu boards. But the specials are always something creative and fun. When I saw Milk Bar flavors, I knew these would be out of the ordinary!

The first flavor was the Chocolate Birthday Cake. To be honest, I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it, since I often find chocolate-based shakes or sundaes to be too rich. But this one was perfect. Thick with tiny crunchy bits throughout, and it really had the taste of a chocolate birthday cake, as opposed to just tasting like plain chocolate. If you like a good classic, rich chocolate cake, this shake was made for you!

The second flavor really blew me away. So perfectly Milk Bar, the Cornflake Chocolate Drizzle. Milk Bar is known for its creative use of Cornflakes and for its cereal milk, so I was really excited to try this flavor. It was amazing, rich, thick, not too sweet. The crunch from the cornflakes added incredible texture. Plus, their flavor added such a simple but new and exciting sweetness to the shake. The drizzle of chocolate and the tiny, mini marshmallows on top were the perfect final touches!

Shake Shack Experience

I can’t forget to mention all of the other amazing food I had at Shake Shack. The brand just opened a new location in the Orlando Vineland Outlets and the entire staff was wonderful. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and gave great advice on what we should order. Their line of Hot Honey Chicken was incredible, and their Shake Stack burger with a fried, cheese-filled mushroom on top might be my new favorite burger on the planet!
